In order to be
certain Mezuzot are 100% Kosher, Halacha (Jewish law) requires they be inspected at least
every 3 and a half years for defects and flaws.

No matter how reliable the Sofer is and no matter how costly the Mezuzah, even the best
scrolls can develop problems over time which are detectable only by highly trained and
certified professionals. Mezuzot, which are often rolled up and inserted into tight cases,
can develop cracks and tears in the parchment and/or the ink can split or crack off,
rendering the Mezuzah Possul (invalid) and unusable. Mezuzot tend to crack with age.
Additionally, moisture can cause the parchment to rot, causing the ink to stick to the
back of the Mezuzah and thus erasing the writing. These are only a few examples of the
more obvious problems the examiner will look for. See PROFESSIONAL

Scribes who are certified by the Vaad Mishmereth STaM are trained to pinpoint otherwise
undetectable problems. Even the tiniest flaw in a letter, which can develop over time, can
render the Mezuzah Possul (invalid). In addition to the careful scrutiny of the Sofer,
each scroll is computer scanned to verify textual accuracy and double-check for overlooked
errors.

office. We will remove your mezuzot,inspect them by certified
examiners, and reinstall them properly.We can also guide and advice you in purchasing
new mezuzot.
We provide you with a Mezuzah quality report, informing you of the
status of your Mezuzah, based on perfection in the formation of the letters. In addition,
this report specifies the size of the Mezuzah and the style of writing (Beit Yosef, Ari or
Sphardi) and the name of the examiner. Note: Every 3 and a half years, you will receive a
computerized reminder to re-inspect your scrolls. We keep a record of who examines your
scroll each time, and by rotating our examiners, you can be assured of a system of
checking which guarantees you the highest standards of Kashrut.
We offer OPTIONAL COMPUTER SCANNING to double-check textual accuracy. Any scribe, no
matter how highly trained and certified, is human and can make mistakes. COMPUTER SCANNING is done only once in the lifetime of
each Mezuzah, because a computer checks only textual accuracy,and the text never changes.
After an examiner inspects formation of the letters and textual accuracy, the computer
verifies textual accuracy once more. NOTE: A computer CAN NOT determine proper formation
of the letters.
